Before we left Kentucky to move over to Scotland, we paid one last visit to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Of everything we were leaving behind, outside of the people, we knew this place would be the most difficult to put behind us. Whenever we needed a recharge of serenity, Shaker Village was just a few miles away.
This recording is of us entering our lodging. Listening to the creaking floor and clanging door latch provides me with a sense of calm even now.
